In the Eye of the Beholder

On our walk home from the train station yesterday, junior and I paused to admire and talk about a eucalyptus tree together.

What a delightful sight to behold.

Last season’s pinkish bark is being shed and the smooth white layer beneath is gradually being revealed.

This tree is growing from the ground to the sky, and from the inside out.

It is shedding its old skin to allow the new growth.

It stands firm as it grows, supported by Nature in all that it needs.

Its’ cyclic transformation is proceeding at the perfect pace.

Inquisitive young fingers prod and pull at a piece of old bark, only to prove that the shedding process cannot be hurried.

Gazing at this amazing dynamic transforming tree before us, I sensed we were looking at a mirror, so to speak.

Do you see it too?

  1. Very true – we really don’t have to go far to be shown the most accurate messages from the natural world 🙂
